Supplementary Movie 4. Second meiotic spindle tilts during emission of PB2

Organism : Ascidian
Species : Phallusia mammillata
Description : Fluorescence images of Ens::3GFP labelling of microtubules extracted from a confocal 4-D time-lapse sequence showing emission of PB2. Note that the second meiotic spindle tilts between 7 and 11 min: note that a rapid translocation moves the second meiotic spindle horizontally along the cortex (from 7 to 8 min.). This translocation ends when one pole of the spindle becomes anchored near the site of PB1 and the spindle simultaneously tilts (starting at 9 min.). PB2 is emitted at 13 min. in this movie (please note that this is actually 25 min. after fertilization). Also note that the microtubules of the large sperm aster are also labelled with Ens::3GFP. Scale bar 40µm. Time in min.
